Nancy has built a vast network of associated Realtors locally, out of the area and Nationally. Passion and Perseverance are qualities Nancy has in Abundance.
Born in San Francisco to Second Generation Armenian Parents with roots in the Fresno area; Nancy was Baptized in the St. Johns Armenian Church over 66 years ago in San Fransico. Growing up Nancy learned about the Armenian Culture by Both Her Parents and Many, Many Aunts and Uncles as well as Relatives throughout the Valley.
Learning the Armenian Language was not a priority in Nancys family – She jokes that her parents spoke Armenian to talk about their children – there may be some truth to that!
Nancys Father Evert was a founding member of the San Francisco church and was active at the diocese level supporting all things Armenian and traveled to Armenia many times. He also was a lifetime member of The Knights of Vartan, Held many positions and was honored to serve in the top position Nationally known as the Avak Sparabed
Like Father like Daughter, Nancy was eventually to follow in the footsteps of her many family members and relatives and has served in a number of different churches around the state on the local level, in many positions, as a worker bee and a leader. She has also been honored to serve on the Diocese council as secretary and Chairlady.
Nancy has also been active in the Daughters of Vartan, the National Armenian Cultural Group for over 28 years, also serving in many positions. In 2023, at the national convention in Boston, Nancy accepted a two-year position as the Avak Dirouhie serving at the top level for the Daughters of Vartan Nationally.
Nancy loves to talk and has the enviable talent of being able to speak in front of a crowd of any size, she has been a trainer, a leader and decision maker.
Nancy is like the Eveready Bunny – endless energy and just keeps going – Never a task too large or too small she is always ready to help others.
Graduating from College in Oregon – OSU – in 1976 - I went to work for Phillip Morris Tobacco Professionally Managing a territory in West Central Oregon. Soon after I married moved back to Minnesota to be near my family. I went to work for International Multifoods; another large fortune 100 company, in the Feinberg Ruben retail sales division and developed accounts throughout the Midwestern states. I was promoted to a regional sales position in the southwestern part of the US. Shortley after that I was again promoted to the general sales manager position to a new division selling seafood and smoked fish – I traveled the US building broker/sales networks for a few years. Time and travelling away from home while trying to raise a small family did not work and something had to change. I decided to buy land in strategic areas and rezone for development and so I began my Real-Estate career in 1986 in the Western Suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, zoning and developing land The main project was a retail strip center, various retail out lots, and several parcels under option which were rezoned for development. I soon joined Kraus Anderson – a large commercial Building and Development company in Minneapolis where I was employed as a Real Estate Agent involved in development, leasing, and management of over 5,000,000 sq. ft of Retail, Warehouse/Industrial and Office Space. After a few years in Corporate driven Real Estate, I decided to become more independent again and I left Krause Anderson to Join CB Commercial/ Minnesota (CBRE) – one of the largest independent commercial Brokerage companies in the area at the time. I eventually got my Brokers License to Market and Manage Properties in Minnesota and Wisconsin. After a number of years leasing, selling and managing Properties with CBRE I decided to venture into a new real-estate opportunity. I purchased the development rights in the states of Oregon and Washington to develop and open over 200 Cost Cutter Stores a Franchised Hair care saloon owned by the Barbers out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Eventually the chain was sold to Regis, a giant in the industry and I decided to pursue new opportunities. I liked the idea of something new and different and decided to try helping people in the employment arena and I was really good at it! I worked for Management Recruiters as a Recruiter and developed a Recruiting Specialty in Process Engineers, Recruiting and Relocating Engineers for client companies. I then bought my desk of clients from Management Recruiters and started a company called Sigma Staffing, specializing in Process Engineering and Plant Management in the wire and cable industry. Over time the bulk of wire and cable manufacturing shifted, with a great deal of the business going out of the USA. I then left that area of specialization to work with Kaiser Hospital group, Recruiting and Relocating Physicians, and then spent many years working for HCA the largest Hospital Ownership Group in the world, again Recruiting and Relocating Physicians. Unfortunately I had a stroke which left me unable to work for a number of months – after a complete recovery I decided to reinvent myself again. I missed the Real Estate Industry – helping people realize their dreams – and I have taken my many experiences in both Real Estate and in Sales, Sourcing, Recruiting and Relocating People and become a Realtor who really knows how to communicate with our clients no matter what their needs are. I joined my wife Nancy Berberian Thompson in 2013 to help market and sell residential properties in the Central Valley. Nancy and I currently live in Kingsburg and work the entire Valley through the brokerage FresYES Realty – Real Broker LLC.
